Quality Assurance Department (QA)

Please note that the QA and PASS Departments are in the process of a revised Unit merger. This merger will facilitate an enhanced delivery of EVE’s strategic objectives and a more streamlined and integrated service to centres. More up to date information and content will be added when this process concludes.

What is QA?

"The planned and systematic activities implemented in a quality system so that quality requirements for service will be fulfilled". QA is an essential part of consistently producing great results. The goal of QA is to assure that services meet or exceed the demands of participants, employees, funders and accreditating bodies.

What does QA offer?

EVE QA dept provides professional guidance and support for anyone working in EVE services in relation to standards, programme development, curriculum development, accreditation, certification, quality marks, corporate image, grants, research etc. QA Dept members are not only managers of quality, they work in a variety of roles, in research, development and planning, standards, accreditation, certification etc - acting as catalysts for performance improvement and promoting excellence.

The department has the responsibility for:

  • procedures to improve the quality of EVE service programmes;
  • periodic evaluation of any service provided by EVE;
  • providing assistance in gaining 'Q Mark' accreditation for the organisation and each EVE location/department;
  • providing assistance in gaining accreditation for the location e.g. NAC, ICCD etc.;
  • managing, liaising and co-ordinating the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programme development, timetabling, programme specifications, curriculum development materials, record systems, certification options and all quality assurance and management systems, policies and procedures;
  • corporate image throughout the organisation;
  • grant funding applications through out the organisation;
  • engendering the Quality Assurance systems and standards;
  • educating staff in quality issues and developing training courses in relation to quality assurance systems and standards, which will ensure training delivery in order to effectively implement the Quality Assurance systems and standards;
  • ensuring quality initiatives are undertaking in line with best practice and comprehensively documented;
  • promoting and encouraging a quality management culture across the organisation;
  • carrying out research, compiling data and providing management reports on performance against agreed objectives, corporately and by service;
  • developing links and networks with external organisations and agencies, sharing best practice in Service Delivery and Quality Management;
  • reviewing external requirements in relation to service delivery and Quality Management.

How is the QA accessed within EVE?

The QA team is based in the Old Health Centre, 124E Emmet Road, Inchicore, Dublin 8 and can be accessed by EVE centre personnel, in consultation with service participants.
